What is ADSL 2/2+

ADSL2/2+ is the next generation of ADSL Broadband, and is being deployed right now by many ISP's around the world.

ADSL2 provides higher downstream rates of up to 12 Mbit/s for spans of less than 2.5 kilometers (8000 feet). ADSL2 boosts these rates to up to 25 Mbit/s for spans of less than 1.5 kilometers (5000 feet).

ADSL2/2+ addresses the growing demand for bandwidth to support services such as video. ADSL2 and ADSL2+ hardware will interoperate with existing ADSL equipment, allowing carriers to roll out new high-speed services while gradually upgrading their legacy infrastructure.

This technology is ideal for high bandwidth services like video on demand.

You will need a new modem that supports adsl2/2+ to be able to benefit from the higher transfer speeds. There are several adls2/2+ modems/routers available on the market today. For a list see the link below.
